The point is he didn’t think what he had felt with the woman on the street was real. He dismissed joy as fantasy and perceived depression as being all that is real. When he got home, he was reminded that real medicine IS joy.

I liked this animated movie short for many reasons The first scene is an accurate depiction of the antique paths so many people feel, being forced out of their sleep cycle by harsh alarms. The birdsong beckons the depressed man, and for a moment, he seems to want to take time to hear the joyful motion g chorus. But, he can't. His time is monopolized by the demand of others, the consequences of which are illustrated in the next scene, when he opens the medicine cabinet. Reluctant and unready to start the day, he walks past the umbrella and raincoat and out into the street. Once outside, he's in a treeless, noise filled concrete jungle. But as it starts to rain when he nears the crowded bus stop, he has a moment of clarity: the raindrops are part of the natural world and have a life of their own. They peer at him, beckoning him to interact with them. Enter the kind young lady who understands this, his disconnection, and her desire to help him connect to the natural world again. His therapeutic encounter with the raindrops, aided by his new friend, is abruptly ended by the arrival of the bus. He boards, lives out his day, and on returning home, realizes that leaving his umbrella and raincoat that morning shed meaningful light onto his existence. I can identify with this greatly. The short was a creative and playful take on why so many are unhappy with society ordered around monopolizing their time and existence, disconnecting them from the natural world, and causing us a sense of loss and distress. Excellent message! 🎬 👍

This just proves so much. The fact that you can always find hope and there’s always a bright side to everything. Also you can always find joy or love or even happiness in the darkest of times or places. I like the lessons and the meaning of this short film. !

I watched this short movie many times, but only now I noticed the picture on the wall. An older man, also looking sad, probably his father.

I honestly struggled with depression for such a long time, and what I learned through my journey and struggles was just how indescribably vast Jesus’s love is for me and how without it I continued to fill that God-sized hole in my heart with things that can never satisfy (like trying to fit a square into a circle in those kid games it just will never fit). I learned that the joy of the Lord truly is my strength and that it’s in Him and Him alone that I have strength every single day to face life with all its challenges. And that strength is available to anyone who is willing to call on Jesus and rely on Him to go before you as you fight your everyday battles and difficulties 🙏🏻
